Everything Computers, LLC has been selected as a semi-finalist in the KC Google Gigabit Challenge 2011. Read the full press release here. Kansas City Fox 4 has their story here and their video is embedded below. The types of plans that were eligible included; new businesses, new products, or significant changes in existing businesses so long as the businesses utilize the Google fiber network as a part of their operations. Prizes include a total of $200,000 to be awarded with a top prize of $100,000 in cash and services. Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the judges, and it would appear a $250,000 "loan" or CPN was also recently added, but it was not clear at the time of this writing if that's part of a separate award, or if both the prize money and loan would go to a single winning entry. Fox 4 indicates in their article that both the top cash prize and business loan would go to a single winning entry, while the contest website seems to lead you to believe those and some other cash prizes will be awarded to potentially several different entries. At any rate, the judges will decide the prize distribution and who are finalists after the December 9th deadline.
